"When you come, we're able to think about something else for awhile. That's important when you're in here." This remark of appreciation was made by a teen at the Polk County Juvenile Detention Center, where members of Glen Echo Christian Church have volunteered for over 25 years.
We are a congregation that is committed to the well being of God's children everywhere, and we seek to offer God's love to people beyond our doors. This conviction encourages us to assist people who are hungry and homeless, elderly folks in senior citizen residences, and children in local schools. We help to bring relief to those who suffer because of natural disasters, and we provide resources for developing communities around the world. We understand that in God's justice, we cannot be whole until all of God's children are whole.
